Space


Space is ideal for larger workgroups, as it builds on the Mini or Midi Space to offer increased capacity and performance using 16 rather than 8 drives. Its flexible expansion units let you scale capacity and performance as need be.

It’s safe, fast and cost-effective – the perfect solution to an increasing need for quick, secure data storage. Able to use standard Ethernet connectivity, Space is easy to install without new cabling or client adaptor cards.

Space comes with four 1G Ethernet (GbE) ports for connecting client workstations. For best performance with GbE clients it’s best to channel bond these ports to a GbE switch and connect client workstations to the switch.

When you use Space with a Space Ex you’ll enjoy even greater performance. To maximise this, simply fit a 10GbE Ethernet card and use 10GbE connection with a GbE switch.

Space has additional expansion slots to add up to five more cards. You can use these to increase the number of GbE clients directly connected to Space without a switch. Or add up to ten 10GbE ports and connect client workstations needing more performance than a GbE connection can offer. The expansion slots can also be used to add extra RAID cards to support more Space Ex units and faster speeds.

Space SSD


For animators, VFX houses or anyone working with multiple users in a high-resolution environment, storage should be all about power and performance. The cost-effective and compact Space SSD storage solution, which is 30 times faster than spinning disks, gives you just that.

It’s the only storage solution that allows online editing of 2K and 4K DPX files in a shared environment. This means you can process more material in a shorter time, while allowing your team to work in the highest resolution possible.

Working with our new Space file transfer software you can exchange data with other Space units at up to 1000MB/sec. This allows you to organise your data in a way that suits your changing requirements, and means you keep Space SSD to manage your most demanding projects.


Space EX


Add up to five Space Ex units to painlessly expand your Space capacity to 192 TB. These cost a fraction of the same capacity Space unit and let you add capacity in the background while you work with no downtime.

Optimised for digital content management, Space Ex works with any mix of Mac, Windows or Linux clients.

It’s safe, fast and cost-effective – the perfect solution to an increasing need for quick, secure data storage. Using high-speed SAS connectivity, Space Ex is easy to install without new cabling or client adaptor cards.

Connect one or more Space Ex units using an extra RAID card in the Space to add 100% more performance.


Space Echo

Space Echo is ideal for in-house back-up or for putting a worldwide disaster recovery strategy in place.

Use Space Echo in your second office or data centre anywhere in the world to automatically back up the changes made to your primary Space unit. Enjoy full automatic data recovery, both on and off site.

As a back-up device to Space, Space Echo makes an excellent near-line storage solution for use with your existing SAN set-up, offering quick transfer speed and added capacity. Free up your SAN with no downtime or high upgrade costs by using Space Echo.

Space Echo costs a fraction of the equivalent Space capacity, and offers the same features but still with excellent performance. You can scale your Space Echo up or down with extra units at a low cost and with no downtime.

Space Echo comes with two 1G Ethernet (GbE) ports for direct server connections. Its expansion slots can take up to two cards to increase the GbE clients directly connected to Space without a switch. Alternatively, you can also add up to four 10GbE ports to connect 10GbE servers that need more performance than through a GbE connection. Connect up to five Space Ex units for cost-effective, large-scale near-line or back-up storage.


Space LTO


Developed to meet the demanding requirements of broadcasters, its four 1.5TB capacity LTO-5 drives all read and write data at the full speed of each tape (140MBs) for the fastest possible back-up and retrieval of media.

In conjunction with a GB Labs storage system, Space LTO runs fast enough to avoid the necessity for the shuttling and scrubbing techniques that stress magnetic tape and jeopardise its viability for long-term back-up. The potential for archiving speeds of up-to 560MBs make Space LTO perfect for multi-channel content creators, owners and distributors.
With a plug and play architecture and the easy-to-use Space Manager administration tool, Space LTO connects via 10G Ethernet ports to be up and running within minutes. It is then controlled by a user-friendly web interface that is accessible from anywhere over your network.

Space Mini LTO


Pre-configured with a 2TB Raid 5 storage system, it is ideal for small workgroups and freelance editors that need secure archiving of their media assets.

The 1.5TB data tapes are handled with extreme care by MiniSpace LTO: its sustained performance avoids the need to shuttle and scrub the tape over the heads, thereby avoiding damage that threatens its integrity. As a long-term archiving system, MiniSpace LTO writes backup data in the TAR open-source, non-proprietary format, making it inter-operable with other devices and fully future-proofed.
