ToolsOnAir

just:in

just:in is an innovative Apple Macintosh-based ingest solution that offers batch, scheduled and crash recording. A comprehensive ingest solution for single / multi-camera or VTR setups, just:in is designed to seamlessly integrate into the production workflow of any TV station or post-production facility.

just:in allows to record into the Avid OP-Atom MXF container and optionally includes MXF4mac, in order to capture multiple video sources directly to the MXF OP1a container as well.

ToolsOnAir family of products

just:in is part of the ToolsOnAir Broadcast Suite, a complete set of powerful video production tools for the Apple Macintosh platform.

Concept
Using the same intuitive interface as all ToolsOnAir products, just:in provides for single or multi-camera video capture in both standard Apple QuickTime MOV and MXF container formats. Unlike other software design philosophies just:in unites single and multi-channel ingest into one flexible and therefore expandable application.

Quality
just:in delivers the professional-quality video and audio ingest you expect from a professional broadcast environment. The result is pristine quality video ingest, combined with an intuitive user interface that offers unparalleled usability while running a multi-channel ingest setup.

Reliability
just:in is designed to deliver 24/7 deployment in professional broadcast environments. Featuring fallback destinations (Hi-Res, Proxy and XML files) for out-of-storage or network connection loss scenarios and an especially developed safe-write logic in the event of a power outage, just:in ensures that you will still have your recordings available for later use, as long as the power outage didn't affect any hardware components or caused any serious file system corruptions. In the case of an out-of-storage scenario just:in keeps its frame accuracy even while switching to another local volume, which makes it quite unique.

Flexibility
just:in's customizable setup easily adapts to the constantly shifting requirements of today's time-sensitive broadcast environment. Customizable presets enable operators to quickly switch between commonly used setups. The ability to capture both Hi-Res and Proxy while recording makes just:in the ideal ingest solution. This significantly speeds up the proxy editing in Final Cut Pro, without prior conversion in MAM systems such as Square Box Systems' CatDV. By using the built-in XML writer engine one can customize the XML export dataset in a very intuitive way and a corresponding XML file with descriptive metadata will go along with every generated QuickTime or MXF file.

Product family

just:in multi can by deployed either as a single version (Local Mode) or as a client/server application and has been developed to fullfill the needs of a tapeless workflow in professional production environments. With the built-in video preview and single/multi-channel control panel, the ingest operator is in control of all avalaible ingest machines within the network or comms room.
